Designed for a couple whose children now live overseas, this residence is a timeless home that balances intimate everyday living with the warmth of family reunions. Inspired by classical Indian architecture and colonial influences, the design features handcrafted teakwood detailing, stained-glass panels, carved columns, mouldings and vaulted ceilings that lend the home a sense of permanence and character. A palette of warm wood, natural stone and soft neutrals provides the perfect backdrop for the clients' thoughtfully curated collection of art and artefacts, including a handcrafted Saraswati sculpture, a Nataraj bronze, a traditional Thangka painting and other collected heirlooms that reflect their love for craftsmanship and culture.
