The whole design process progressed with the idea of retaining the warmth and nostalgia attached to traditional Indian craftsmanship, keeping alive the feeling of having been carefully curated with love over time. The house pays homage to the beautiful materials and heritage craftsmanship that united to create detailed, carved-out solid wood furniture. All the original wooden furniture was retained in all its glory, and additions were made to complement the originally established design language. Recognizing the relevance and elegance of traditional indian prints, we introduced it in peeks and glimpses in upholstery, and soft furnishings which elevated the earthen colour palette of the entire space. The home was set in warm, earthy colour tones that mirror the essence of the materials used in the space - wood, marble and brass. Little wall accents were added to further accentuate the details that presented naturally in traditional Indian homes.
